Long Distance AVERAGE Fuel Consumptions at different driving speeds and styles

Friday, April 17, 2015

myPeugeot 308 had just clocked around 6000km in almost 100 days. More than 75% were long-distance trips on Federal/Trunk Roads [non-Expressways] - covering approx. 1000km per return trip. The car was test-driven for AVERAGE fuel consumptions at almost all possible driving speeds/styles.

6.2~7.5liter/100km - Economy driving on AutoCruise without exceeding speed limits.

7.0~8.5liter/100km - Normal driving like most people drive. Sometimes on AutoCruise.

8.0~10.0liter/100km - Mixed - Combination of Normal and Spirited driving styles.

9.5~12.0+liter/100km - Spirited driving
[note: testing for speeds only - the GPS reads 3~4kph LOWER than the speedometer reading, the actual speed on speedometer was 210kph. Top speed was 214km/hr on the speedometer]

It is proven TRUE once again that 308THP is a frugal car when driven economically - can be a thirsty lion when pushed hard for the performance though.
